From Employee to Creative Founder

For over a decade, I immersed myself in the world of marketing, climbing the corporate ladder until I reached the position of Head of Marketing. I had the privilege of working with e-commerce, education and high-end luxury brands, gaining invaluable experience and expertise.

But there was a turning point. A yearning for something more, a desire to create, to craft, to build. In 2020, during a lockdown that had us glued to screens more than ever, I took a leap of faith and started my own creative business, Banner Department, as a side hustle. The transition from the corporate world to full-time entrepreneurship was far from seamless.

My

Story

  • Before finding my passion in Banner Dept, I ventured through a series of business ideas, each with its own promise and potential. However, I discovered that true success came when I stopped flicking through ideas and fully committed to one. It was the pivotal moment that marked a shift in my journey. This dedication allowed me to hone my skills, refine my vision, and build something truly meaningful. Banner Dept is a testament to the power of focus and commitment, and I'm excited to share the insights and lessons from this transformative experience with you.

  • The leap from the feeling of stability to the uncertainty of entrepreneurship felt daunting. The path was fraught with financial challenges, unpredictable income, and the daunting task of building a creative business from the ground up. But the call of creativity was stronger.

  • What began as a kitchen table business has now grown into a creative hub. Banner Department collaborates with remarkable people and brands from around the world, including renowned names like Candy Kittens, Brewdog, and Monday.com. The journey has been filled with exhilarating highs and daunting lows, but the joy of pursuing my passion and helping others do the same is immeasurable.

  • Now, I'm on a mission to help others navigate the challenging path of transitioning from traditional careers to creative entrepreneurship. I understand the fear of uncertainty, the financial challenges, and the struggle of building a creative business from scratch.
